For Sale – President Gethin Jones is selling his 1964 LHD VAUXHALL FC 101 VX4/90

This very rare gentleman's sporting carriage was built in Luton in 1964 and first registered in Paris in 1965. The car "Veronica" has had only two Parisian owners until I bought her in 2005. Before her journey to Spain I had her prepared for the Spanish sun with new radiator, fan belt, water pump and hoses. Also the suspension brakes and steering were overhauled together with a full service and all fluids and filters.

In 2009 I replaced a cracked steering box and have maintained her to above the manufacturer's standard. Veronica has never been restored and amazingly has no rust, a result of always being garaged and her previous owner's habit of brushing the underside with used engine oil when she was serviced. With only just 52,000 Km when I bought her and 55,700 Km now, (34,800 miles) the interior is as new and even still smells new.

On the exterior the chrome rubbing strips have small dings and dents from fighting with all the Peugeots and Renaults in Paris and as she is so original I have not had the heart to replace them.

The performance is impressive as any member who has followed her through the mountains will testify. The comfortable body and large boot makes her a very sociable classic as you can comfortably take your friends with you on our fabulous runs. She will be sold complete with original road tests and proper Vauxhall Factory repair manuals, English hand book and a five page magazine article about her. Soon she will be 50 years old and I would like her to pass to some one who will try and make sure that she lasts another 50 years, even if they do not.
