Im want to put my 1983 Fiat 131 mirafiori sport (modified) onto Spanish plates.
I have been through the Matriculation process with my other car BMW Z3.
However their seems to be problems with the Fiat.
Advise given so far seems to indicate that the car is too far modified from the original to pass an ITV, modifications include:
1) Full Abarth Body Kit.
2) 35mm Wheel spacers and larger wheels.
3) Fiat Uno Turbo front brake discs and calipers (to improve breaking)
4) Bumpers removed.
5) Additional carburation (pair 45's)
6) 25% uprated suspension.
See photos below of before and after.
Is their anyone that can help me? Is it possible?
What options do i have? Can i run the car on UK plates?
Regards
Steve

They just don't like modified cars. When I did my 1993 Porsche 911 Turbo they even complained that the rims and tyres were not standard equipment - although they passed it in the end. I don't know enough to advise you, but I'll see if i can get someone with more knowledge to answer your questions.

I agree that the Spanish do not like registering modified cars. One solution might be to take off the mods, register the car then put them back on!

The only person I know who might be able to give more information is Maurice Yeo who runs the Balcon de Europa club in Nerja. His email address is - clasicosbalcondeeuropa@telefonica.net

Yeah, the only sure fire way of getting it registered is by taking off the mods, then afterward reapplying them
